What is the architecture behind Ringway?
Ringway is round.
Tests with initial versions of the shop (several aisles, complex control functions) have shown that many users could not cope with the shop’s control options and lost orientation. This is why the Ringway concept has been developed: a circular shop with reduced control options.
Ringway is simple.
Users can move forwards and backwards, they can turn in three camera positions, and they can zoom in. These simplified control functions allow users to focus on what really matters: the products. Users can see the products in detail, rotate them and zoom in the products.
The construction of the shelves, the perspective of the user and the navigation concept pursue the aims: unspoiled view on products, no effort with navigation and easy action of buying
